This Atlético Madrid team is “physically perfect” in the view of Filipe Luís ahead of two of the biggest games in the clubs history.

Diego Simeone’s team have the chance to crown the 2013/14 campaign in majestic style by winning La Liga and the Champions League.

The Brazilian believes the team can cope with the next two weeks where they’ll face Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Saturday before Real Madrid next weekend in Lisbon in the Champions League final.

Filipe Luís told the official club website: “The team is physically perfect, in that regard, there is no other team that could overcome us.

“In all the years I’ve been here, this is the best physical shape I’ve seen the team in. All of the players are in a perfect age group. Mentally, we’re more than prepared to endure these two weeks we have left.

“We have no pressure, we have a beautiful responsibility.”

Filipe Luís believes the club is living through the most important moment in their history and discussed how Diego Simeone is viewing the next two weeks.

He added: “We’ve had to overcome some difficult teams in La Liga and the Champions League and we’re currently living through the most important moment in the club’s history.

“It hasn’t been easy, it’s been a lot of hard work and sweat and you have add something more to this season.

“Simeone only talks about the next match, whatever happens, he puts it behind him and the one that’s even further out, he doesn’t even bother talking about it and this is a great thing for everyone to focus on the next match.”
