Filipe Luís: Atlético Madrid will try to make it uncomfortable for Barça
Atlético Madrid defender Filipe Luís is aiming to make the La Liga title decider against Barcelona as uncomfortable as possible for the home team.
The Camp Nou plays host to one of the biggest games in the Spanish domestic season on Saturday as Barcelona host Atlético knowing victory will hand them the league title.
However, a draw or win for Diego Simeone’s team and Los Rojiblancos will win the title and Brazilian Filipe Luís is anticipating another close match.
He told the Atlético club website: “I think our match against Barcelona will be along the same lines as the previous five we’ve played against them this season.
“Barcelona are one of the best teams in the world, they’re a team with a lot of quality, where the players taken advantage of you losing the ball."
Filipe Luís believes keeping the game tight will be key to frustrating Barcelona and he discussed some of the tactics they’ll try to employ.
“They are playing at home and they have experience of winning La Liga," said Filipe Luís.
"It’ll be a game where we have to play strong in defence, try to break out in the counter attack against their possession and controlling the game.”
“The key is to be very tight, close together because Barcelona’s game hypnotises you. We’ll be aggressive, not violent, and intense in defense and try to make them comfortable. We need to make the game uncomfortable for Barça, that’ll be the key.”
