Spurs midfielder Sandro reveals Heurelho Gomes will leave north London club
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro has revealed that compatriot Heurelho Gomes will be leaving White Hart Lane and has paid tribute to his “brother”.
Gomes and Sandro were both present at White Hart Lane yesterday as former England international Ledley King was honoured with a testimonial match.
After the game, the 25-year-old posted a message on his Instagram page which insinuates that Gomes will leave north London after joining the club from PSV in 2008.
Sandro said: “I would like to thank this amazing professional, Heurelho Gomes but most important, this amazing man for everything he has done for me during these 4 years!
“Today it was his last day but I’ve gained a brother for the rest of my life! I will truly miss you… Obrigado IRMÃO.”
Gomes moved to Spurs with an excellent reputation but has hardly featured for the first team in recent seasons as a number of managers have been used by the north London club.
A move back to Brazil was muted in January and it will now be interesting to see where the 33-year-old ends up.
