Mexico Head Coach Miguel Herrera has named his 23 man squad for this summer’s World Cup.

The tactician, who was appointed as a replacement for Víctor Manuel Vucetich last October, has largely picked domestic-based players, with just eight of his selection plying their trade in Europe.

Amongst Herrera’s choices there are no big surprises, but Carlos Vela and Javier Aquino, who had strong seasons with Real Sociedad and Villarreal respectively, are notable omissions.
