Seleção skipper Thiago Silva has backed Paris-Saint Germain team mate Alex to do well at AC Milan should he make the move to the San Siro this summer.

The experienced Brazilian is expected to switch Paris for Milan and fellow countryman Silva would be happy for his “friend” if he made that move.

“I highly recommend Alex to Milan,” Silva commented in Gazzetta dello Sport today.

“Alex is really a defender for big teams,” he continued. “We have to wait until the end of the season to find out, but if he were to go to the Rossoneri then he would certainly do well.

“And I would be happy for him as I would have another friend at a big club.”

Football Italia quoted the PSG and Brazil captain as he also discussed former international team mate Kaká, who was predictably left out of Luiz Felipe Scolari’s 23-man World Cup squad on Wednesday.

Silva believes should the 32-year-old remain at Milan, then he will continue to flourish in Rossoneri colours.

The Seleção captain concluded: “Kaka? I am sure that if he stays, then he can still do very well.”
