“After looking at the list of those selected for the World Cup and to see my name there. I just want to first thank God and then the committee who trust my work.”

Although Hulk has played in two previous important condition – The 2012 Olympics and 2013 Confederation Cups – the Zenit attacker believes this competition is on a different level.

He also pleaded with the home fans to support him and his team mates throughout this summer’s tournament.

Hulk added: “I think only those who played in World Cup’s before really know about them.

“The emotion that it brings, the greatness that you get to compete in a World Cup. I’ve talked to several players who competed in World Cup’s and my friends said that is it something that nothing compares to.

“I hope to get support. Not only me but the whole team so that we can have a great World Cup in front of our fans and our country. The fans strength will be very important for all of us.”
