Football Italia quoted Felipão, he said: “Hernanes, who is one of my midfield options, is one of the best around at shooting from distance and switching the play.
“He will also help out defensively and help to organise our shape.”
The Brazil boss went on to talk up the importance of having a good environment around the squad.
Scolari also discussed the significance that six players have “real World Cup experience,” he added: “We have six players with real World Cup experience.
“That could be important for us during the course of the competition.
“The only thing we want to do is to win the World Cup and it is up to me to create the best environment possible in order to make that happen.
“With the national team doctors, we will work to ensure the players are in the best possible physical and mental condition for the tournament. That is what the friendlies are for.”
