Luiz Felipe Scolari, the Brazil coach, has not made any shock selections but did face some difficult decisions.

Maxwell of PSG has earned his place as reserve left back having impressed for Brazil recently. But his team mate in France, Marquinhos, has been overlooked at centre back, along with Atletico Madrid‘s Miranda. Scolari has instead preferred the more adaptable Henrique of Napoli.

There is no place in the squad for Robinho, with Bernard selected to provide more options in the attacking third. The Shakhtar Donetsk man is reaping the benefits of his success at last year‘s Confederations Cup in Brazil.

Omissions for Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva and Philippe Coutinho have compounded a miserable start to this week for the pair.

Six British-based players will be taking part this summer, as Chelsea‘s David Luiz, Ramires, Oscar and Willian, Fernandinho of Manchester City and Spurs midfielder Paulinho have all been called up.

Victor of Atletico Mineiro has been picked as the third choice goalkeeper over Fluminense‘s Diego Cavalieri.

Goalkeepers: César, Jefferson, Victor.

Central defenders: Dante, David Luiz, Thiago Silva, Henrique.

Fullbacks: Dani Alves, Maicon, Marcelo, Maxwell.

Midfielders: Fernandinho, Hernanes, Luiz Gustavo, Oscar, Paulinho, Ramires, Willian.

Forward: Bernard, Fred, Hulk, Jo, Neymar.
