Botafogo signing Carlos Alberto ready to get startedAlberto started his career at Fluminense
New Botafogo signing Carlos Alberto has shrugged off queries about his temperament and declared that he has grown with age, in a first news conference at his new club.
The former Porto and Werder Bremen attacking midfielder, 29, told Lance that a return to Botafogo, for whom he briefly played on loan in 2008, was the right career choice for him.
The five-times capped Brazilian said: "I have two kids and I'm maturing. I have strengths and weaknesses like everyone else."
Alberto also spoke of his happiness at linking up with striker Emerson Sheik, who has also recently joined the club: "He is a friend. He's a player that everyone needs when things are bad. Emerson is sensational."
The pair will hope to revive a tricky start to the 2014 campaign, whereby Botafogo went out at the group stages of the Copa Libertadores.
