Readers of goal.com have voted for their ideal Brazil selection for the upcoming World Cup ahead of the eagerly anticipated squad announcement from coach Luiz Felipe Scolari today.

And the final poll suggests that the supporters will be expecting Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho to make the cut in what would be a surprise call from the manager.

The fans’ voted unanimously for Julio Cesar in goals, with the default centre-back pairing of Thiago Silva and David Luiz favoured; Atletico Madrid defender Miranda polled more votes than rival Dante, of Bayern Munich.

Daniel Alves and Marcelo are the wing backs, with Luiz Gustavo and Paulinho holding the fort in midfield.

An attacking triumvirate of Coutinho, Oscar and Willian was preferred to just taking the latter two, whilst up front there were no surprises as Neymar, Hulk and Fred got the nod; Jo didn’t make the fans’ squad.

With so much debate about the make-up of Scolari’s 23, the wait is almost over and supporters will be able to see how close they were to calling it correctly.

Squad details will be announced as soon as possible on Sambafoot later today.
