Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti full of praise for Paris-Saint Germain defenders Alex and Thiago Silva
Carlo Ancelotti has lavished praise on 31-year-old centre back Alex, who is out of contract with Paris-Saint Germain this summer.
The former Chelsea defender has been linked with a return to AC Milan and old boss Ancelotti believes he deserves to be at a top club.
The current Real Madrid manager spoke to Milan Channel about the Brazilian defender.
He said: “Alex is a formidable defender who we already tried to sign in 2005-06, as he already underwent a medical at Milan Lab.
“He is one of the best headers of the ball in circulation, but despite being tall he is also very quick in the sprint.
“I hope for Milan and for him that this move can go through. He’s a top level player who belongs at this top level club.”
Ancelotti also praised current Seleção captain Thiago Silva and believes he helped install a winning mentality into PSG.
“Paris was a different experience,” said the Italian manager.
“At Milan the organisation was already in place, whereas PSG had to be constructed and a winning mentality created.
“It arrived with time thanks to the introduction of players like Zlatan Ibrahimović and Thiago Silva.”
