Internazionale defender Jonathan believes Walter Mazzarri is the right man to lead the Nerazzurri next season.
The former Napoli head coach has come under intense pressure following a mixed season with the San Siro club.
But when Brazilian defender, Jonathan, spoke to Sky Sport 24, he backed the current boss.
“We should definitely continue with Mazzarri next year,” Jonathan said, as quoted by Football Italia. “I am 100 per cent sure we should carry on with him.
“Clearly the critics at the moment are putting him under pressure and it has even been written that we players are not behind him.
“That is not true, we want to move forward with the current boss. He talks to everyone and we all talk to him all the time.”
The 28-year-old believes Mazzarri is the perfect coach for Inter and revealed everybody was sad to lose the Derby della Madonnina.
Jonathan said: “He is a coach who gives confidence to his players, he is prepared and he always wants to win. He is angry when we don’t win.
“A great team like Inter needs a coach like him.
“Clearly it is not just him who is sad that we lost, we are sad too.”
