Atletico Mineiro manager Culpi calls for patience as he tries to improve resultsAutor was sacked despite winning the Copa Libertadores last season
New Atletico Mineiro head coach Levir Culpi insists that it is not the end of the world after his charges fell to a 1-0 home defeat to Goias in the Brasileirao at the weekend- but made it quite clear that performance levels must improve rapidly if they are to be competitive in the 2014 season.
Speaking with Goal, Galo boss Culpi, who replaced stricken Paulo Autori last month, said: "The performance was not good again, but I would say that the responsibility of this result is completely mine."
"We have worked and the options for the game were mine. I know the emotions of the Atletico crowd and players, and we will resolve it. We will play well soon and get great results, you can be sure of that."
It doesn't get any easier for Mineiro as they prepare to host last term's champions Cruzeiro at home this Sunday.
