Levante goalkeeper Keylor Navas is hopeful Costa Rica can surprise at this summer’s World Cup, despite a tough draw.

Jorge Luis Pinto’s side have been paired with Italy, England and Uruguay in Group D.

With such high profile opposition, few are giving Costa Rica a chance of progressing to the knock-out stages, but Navas believes the calibre of teams in their group will spur them on.

“Nothing is impossible,” he told FIFA.com. “The other teams in the group are all very strong with great World Cup records. But this is something that motivates us.

“It’s a great challenge in our lives and in our careers as footballers. But we will have to do our talking on the pitch. We’ll bring a lot of enthusiasm and will stay positive for the whole 90 minutes.”

Navas has been capped 51 times by Costa Rica and was voted the best goalkeeper at the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
