Philippe Coutinho believes the fact that he was received well by his team mates helped him settle into English football quicker than most people predicted.

The diminutive Brazilian has been at Liverpool for over a year and his signing has been hailed as a major coup for the club.

The former Inter Milan midfielder discussed the pace of the Premier League in an interview with Placar, he said: “English football is very fast and attack-minded.

"Although marking is tight, so that suited well to how I like to play.

“Several factors [also helped]. But the most important of them is that I was received very well and that was very helpful."

Sky Sports quoted Coutinho whose Liverpool team harmed their chances of winning the title by throwing away a three-goal lead against Crystal Palace this evening.

Next up for the Reds is their last game of the season at Anfield against Newcastle, where they’ll be hoping to finish with a flourish.
