The Corinthians director of football Edu Gaspar is joining the Iran national team‘s coaching set-up, according to reports in the country.
The former Seleção midfielder will assist Iran‘s Portuguese manager Carlos Queiroz at this summer‘s World Cup in Brazil.
The Iranians will be based at Corinthians‘ training ground as they prepare for Group F matches against Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Nigeria.
Edu‘s playing career included two spells at the São Paulo club, and almost a decade with Arsenal and Valencia in Europe.
This new coaching role is the 35-year-old Brazilian‘s first at international level.
