Chelsea manager José Mourinho has praised midfielder Willian, but believes his fellow Brazil international Oscar can still improve.

The 25 year-old, who was signed from Anzhi last summer for £32 million, has grown into a regular in the Chelsea first-team this season and is proving to be a smart addition.

In contrast, Oscar’s form has dipped in recent months. The midfielder is currently out injured and Mourinho expects him to play with greater consistency next term.

"Willian has improved," noted Mourinho, as reported by The Telegraph. "But you can’t succeed with everybody. At the end of the day, it’s up to them. You try to help, but it’s up to them.

"Everyone who is in an age of improvement needs to improve. Everyone.

"Would you lose any of those if they don’t have the ability to improve? I think they will stay. [André] Schürrle had a good season? Not bad, but next season must be better. [Mohamed] Salah, Oscar, Willian, [Eden] Hazard, all of them are in an age of improvement."
