Hernanes is expecting great things from his first Derby della Madonnina as AC Milan and Internazionale go head to head tomorrow night at the San Siro.

The game is designated as a ‘home’ match for Milan but the Brazilian midfielder hopes his team will be able to obtain three points, which will be crucial in their quest for a European spot.

Sky Perfect Japan interviewed Hernanes and he explained why he views this particular derby match as so important, he said: “I have great expectations for this game.

"I want to do really well because I know that a player can really win over the fans in games like these.

"I want to help the team win. It will be very important because, beyond the fact that it’s the derby, it can be key in us moving forward with our objectives."

Hernanes has enjoyed working with coach Walter Mazzarri and revealed what the Nerazzurri boss expects from him.

He added: “It couldn’t be going any better. I needed to find a coach like him and I’m very happy to be working with him. What does he ask of me? To be a leader and help the team."

And how does Hernanes hope tomorrow’s derby fixture ends? He said: "Inter won the first derby this season and we hope to do it again. Maybe with one of my goals? I hope so…[smiling]. At any rate, what matters is to win."
