Barcelona defender Dani Alves believes racism hasn’t changed in Spain.

The 30 year-old had a banana thrown at him during Barça’s 3-2 win at Villarreal on Sunday.

Alves responded to the incident by taking a bite out of the fruit and suggested after the game that racism in Spain is a bad as it was when he first joined Sevilla in 2002.

“You have to take it because nothing will change,” he said, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

“I’ve been in this country for 11 years and everything’s the same as it was long ago. We should be laughing at these retards.”
