The former Brazil international has said that he would love nothing more than to see Scolari’s side meet their great rivals at the Maracanã on July 13.

Zico appeared at three World Cups while earning his 71 caps for the Seleção and the former Flamengo star believes Luiz Felipe Scolari’s side are in good shape ahead of the tournament, which this year returns to Brazil for the first time since 1950.

The 61-year-old was speaking at an event in São Paulo and believes a meeting with their great rivals would be the perfect way for Neymar & co to claim their sixth world title.

“Scolari is doing a great job. I am very confident that the team can bring another title to the country.”

“Our great adversary is Argentina. They mainly rely on Messi, who is the big name in world football. I do not expect to see an underdog challenge for the tournament.”

“I think that would be the ideal final would be between Brazil and Argentina.”
