Flamengo head coach Jayme de Almeida Filho claims that there is not alot wrong with his side, despite falling to a defeat at Corinthians that leaves his side with a solitary point from their opening two league fixtures of 2014.

The Rio de Janeiro-based side also had to cope with the straight red card of Leo Moura, but jayme believes the way Flamengo responded to being down to ten men was admirable and encouraging: “With ten players we were better, so why not think about winning the championship? I do not think there is alot wrong here.”

“I have nothing to complain about the team, we made a great game but the result is what it is.”

Jayme’s belief that his team can still be title challengers is a bold one, and they will have extra rest periods between some fixtures after their elimination in the Group stages of the Copa Libertadores- a feat that has only happened once previously.
