Fluminense talisman Fred has lauded the work of head coach Cristovao Borges after they claimed an impressive 1-0 away win at Palmeiras in the second round of the Campeonato Brasileirao on Saturday evening.
The three points came courtesy of a goal from Rafael Sobis, but Brazil hitman Fred was quick to point out the work of Borges, in his first season at the Rio de Janeiro club: “Our movement is very good. To come here and have this result is a great result.”
“The coach deserves merit. He arrived, picked the team and uses his quality to get us to do what he asks.”
“We still have 36 more tests. Our team has shown it has quality, it has soul, it is organised. And to come here and win shows we’re on the right track.”
