Alan Kardec’s move to Palmeiras is no forgone conclusion accoring to reports in the Brazilian press, as other clubs begin to show an interest in the striker who has impressed greatly in his time at the club during a loan spell from portuguese outfit Benfica.

Kardec, who was the joint top scorer in the Paulista state championship, has been linked with a call up to Luiz Felipe Scolari’s World Cup squad, such has been his recent form.

And Lance suggests that rivals Sao Paulo are monitoring the situation with interest. Palmeiras have a deal in place with Benfica to but the player, but any move must be forthcoming before a pre-determined deadline of May 31.

Kardec is thought to be struggling with injury for his loan club’s league fixture this weekend against Fluminense at the Pacaembu stadium in Sao Paulo.
