Ryder Matos has thanked Fiorentina head coach Vincenzo Montella for giving him confidence.

The 21 year-old returned to the Florence-based club last summer after a loan spell at Bahia and has gone on to make 21 appearances this term.

"I would give myself 6.5 out of 10 for the season," he told Radio Fiesole. "I hope to continue that way.

"I’m still missing a goal, I will look to get it as soon as possible.

"Montella has shown faith in me and given me confidence and I need to thank him.

"I hope that [Giuseppe] Rossi and [Mario] Gómez are back for the Coppa Italia final against Napoli. We will give 100 per cent to bring it home.

"I have bonded well with everyone, but especially Borja Valero, [Alberto] Aquilani, Gonzalo Rodríguez and [Juan] Cuadrado."

Matos is still looking for his first Serie A goal, but has netted against CS Pandurii Târgu Jiu and Paços de Ferreira in the Europa League.
