Botafogo’s new goalkeeping coach, Victor Hugo Signorelli, has praised the quality of stoppers he has at his disposal at a time when Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari will be finalising his options in that position for the upcoming World Cup.
Speaking with Lance, Signorelli said: “Botafogo does a good job with goalkeepers, they always bring players through.”
“Those who are here have a lot of quality, Renan for example is an excellent keeper. Without a game during this week I will get to know them more and work on the essentials.”
Jefferson is the imcumbent at Botafogo, the Brazil keeper pretty much assured of a place in Scolari’s final 23 man squad, barring injury. The 31 year-old has represented his country on nine occasions since making his debut in 2011.
