New Sao Paulo striker Alexandre Pato has impressed in his first few games for the club, already getting on the scoresheet and assisiting in three further goals for Tricolor.

The Brazil striker has joined on loan until the end of next season from Corinthians, and is hoping to form a tasty partnership with Luis Fabiano up top, with Ganso providing the artistic flair behind the pair.

Pato told reporters after his side’s comfortable 3-0 win against Botafogo thst the support of the fans has been instrumental in his settling in at the club: “It was important to get the affection of the fans.”

“Even coming from a rival club, they are encouraging me. Such support makes me quiet to play football and help my teammates, because I want to give back what the fans have done for me.”

A most impressive opening day win over Botafogo has seen Sao Paulo’s championship credentials being talked about, especially because they have no continental distractions this term.
