Corinthians head coach Mano Menezes "partially satisfied" with Atletico Mineiro pointMenezes' sides are known as being defensively sound
Corinthians head coach Mano Menezes has declared himself fairly satisfied with his team's opening day league draw with Atletico Mineiro in Sao Paulo but called on them to improve quickly in order to compete at the top of the championship from an early stage.
Menezes told reporters after the goalless draw: "We are not fully satisfied with the draw, because it is a long journey and we must always fight for the victory."
"But considering the quality of the opponent, the time we were playing, we get, if not wholly, partially satisfied."
"There has been an evolution in the defensive system and we also created three or four clear chances."
With no Copa Libertadores fixtures to complete this season, Corinthians will be aiming to qualify for next year's tournament as a minimum expectaion from 2014's Brasileiro, and a typically stoic Menezes defence has given them a first point and clean sheet as on the competition's opening weekend.
