The Argentine has dismissed talk of Neymar appearing in Barcelona’s final game of the season, as the Brazilian star looks to recover fully from a foot injury that is likely to keep him sidelined for four weeks.

The game against Atlético Madrid at the Camp Nou on 18 May is likely to be crucial but, nevertheless, Tata Martino is pessimistic in relation to Neymar’s involvement.

“To be honest it’s very difficult to imagine that he will have the chance to play. He will take about four weeks to recover from the injury he has, and that would take us right up to the final game.”

“I’m not optimistic that he will play again for Barcelona this season,” said the 51-year-old.
