Diego Costa insists Atlético will give everything in “crucial month” coming up
Diego Costa believes Atlético Madrid will give everything between now and the end of the season as the forward talked about the “crucial” month coming up.
The Brazilian born forward has also revealed that coach Diego Simeone said to his players that this weekend’s game against Elche is a final.
Costa was speaking to AS and said: “Now is a very crucial month. We know what we have to do.
“The team has the mentality, strength and conviction. It’s very important and we will give everything.”
Football Espana quoted the Atlético forward, who added: “The coach said it’s a final so we have to treat it like one because it’s a very important game.
“Elche are an opponent who are always complicated and they have a good team, but we will try to play our game. At home, with the supporters, we are very strong.”
Although Costa talks about a crucial month ahead, his season might have been over after he smashed into the post against Getafe last weekend.
Many feared the Atlético attacker could have suffered a broken leg, however it was confirmed as just a bad cut but the forward admitted he was scared.
He added: “I’m fine. The truth is it was a scare and thank God nothing happened. I’m eager to play the next game.”
