Dodô has hailed the influence of coaches Aurelio Andreazzoli and Rudi Garcia on his progression since signing for Roma.
The 22 year-old has grown into a key player for the Giallorossi this season with some strong performances from left full-back.
Dodô admits it took time for him to adjust to the differences between football in Brazil and Italy, but is now settled in Rome and hopes to continue improving.
“At the start it was tough for me here, as I was young and changed country,” he told Roma Channel. “I made a few mistakes in terms of attitude and thought process, as perhaps I was too closed-minded.
“I didn’t learn much the first few months, but playing with Aurelio Andreazzoli I learned a lot and with Rudi Garcia even more. I want to have fun now and go forward, forcing the opposition striker to mark me and not the other way round.
“I can do a lot more in attack, although I’ve never really scored many goals in my career. I’ve been a bit unlucky with my finishing, though it’s different than to Brazil when we had a lot more spaces.”
