Brazil will face arch rivals Argentina in a post-World Cup friendly in the Bird’s Nest Stadium in Beijing on October 11.

The glamour match, which will give fans a chance to cure their respective World Cup hangovers, is known as the Super Clasico of the Americas and is as keenly contested a national derby as there is going.

The date is an official FIFA international one, which means that both sides should be at close to full strength, a factor that has in recent years hampered this type of fixture.

In their previous 104 encounters, the Selecao have won 41 and lost 38, drawing 25 times, and have scored 162 goals to their opponent’s 160.

It is sure to be either a World Cup-winning party for one of the sides or a quick chance to revamp following the conclusion of the tournament on July 13.

It could even be a World Cup final rematch…
