Fernandinho calls on Man City to finish the season with five straight wins
Fernandinho’s disappointment on Tuesday night was clear after Manchester City lost ground in the title race following a home draw against Sunderland. However, he has tried to inspire his team mates by insisting the title race is far from over and he still believes it will go down to the wire.
The Brazilian spoke to Manchester Evening News after the game and challenged his team mates to win every game between now and the end of the season.
“We need to keep on – they (Liverpool and Chelsea) can drop some points in their games and we need to win five games,” Fernandinho said.
“We will see what happens in the end, but we need to recover our motivation for the next game and beat West Brom at home.”
Fernandinho went on to talk about the competitiveness of the Premier League and how each side in the title race has a chance.
He added: “We still have five more games, and are waiting for Liverpool or Chelsea to drop some points, and we will see what happens then.
“A lot of people have said this season has been the most competitive Premier League, with three teams that all had to be champions, and I am sure it will still be decided in the last game.”
