Brazil head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has suggested that the vast majority of his World Cup selection is complete but at the same time has offered hope to those that are still in the reckoning for a place in his final 23 man squad for the tournament that kicks off on June 12.

Speaking on the Gillette Brasil Global Tour, he said: “Any Brazilian player has a chance of being drafted. Everyone is being watched.”

Scolari was asked in particular about the prospects of Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and Atletico Madrid defender Miranda.

“We have our team set. Doubts are passed to you to continue arguing, but we already have our team set.”

Scolari then went on to suggest that only Jesus Christ himself could pick a squad upon which nobody would have reservations about, appearing to give out a calm presence under the intense media scrutiny in the lead up to Brazil’s biggest footballing year.
