Brazilian midfielder Carlos Eduardo continued his fine season by netting in Porto’s 3-1 victory over Braga in the Portuguese league on Sunday, cementing their position in third place in the process.

With Estoril breathing down the necks of the perennial title contenders, an away victory was a must in order to avoid a potential gap of only three points between the pair.

And a 1-1 draw was on the cards until Eduardo popped up in the 87th minute to give his side the lead, secured by a stoppage time strike from Quintero.

Eduardo, 24, joined Porto in 2013 and has blossomed since the turn of the year, adding goals to his game too. He had previously played in Brazil with the likes of Ituano, Fluminense and Desportivo Brasil.
