The three remaining Brazilian teams in this season’s Copa Libertadores have found out their opponents for the round of 16 in the competition.
After Flamengo, Botafogo and Atletico Paranaense suffered the ignomity of failing to progress past the group stages (All six of Brazil’s representatives managed to do so last term), the hopes of a Samba triumph will rest on the following:
Atletico Mineiro v Atletico Nacional
San Lorenzo v Gremio
Cruzeiro v Cerro Porteno
The Gremio fixture in particular will give the chance of some revenge for the Brazilian domestic game; opponents San Lorenzo thrashed Botafogo 3-0 on Wednesday evening to dump the Rio de Janeiro side out of the tournament by finishing bottom of their section.
The games will be played over two legs towards the end of the month and the start of May.
