VfL Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs has admitted he expects their to be interest in midfielder Luiz Gustavo this summer.
The 26 year-old has settled quickly at the Lower Saxony based club since arriving from Bayern Munich last August.
With Gustavo expected to play a key role in Brazil’s bid to win the World Cup on home soil this summer, Allofs fears that a good tournament could bring him to the attention of other clubs.
“We are very happy to have Luiz Gustavo,” he told Kicker-Sportmagazin. “He is a regular first-team player and he is also an important player for the team.
“He has a long-term deal at our club. Of course, he is a Brazil international player and we know there could be a lot of changes to this if he is going to play a pivotal role at the World Cup.”
