Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone has insisted Diego Costa and João Miranda must be at least 90 per cent fit to play against Barcelona.
Costa, in particular, is considered a doubt for the second leg of Atlético"s Champions League quarter-final, after he was forced off injured at the Camp Nou.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Simeone maintained that he would not pick anyone who wasn’t at the required level of fitness and assured that Adrián is on standby to replace Costa, should he fail to make the contest.
"We will see what condition he is in at training," he said, as reported by Football Espana. "If he doesn’t play Adrián will and I am sure he will do very well.
"The team needs a player who is at a minimum of 90 per cent. A player at 50 per cent does no good, whether that be Miranda, [Diego] Godín or Diego Costa.
"Adrián is in good shape and I am sure that tomorrow he will score a goal!"
