Pelé has criticised Brazil’s organisation of this summer’s FIFA World Cup and admits he has concerns about the infrastructure.

The 73 year-old, who won the tournament three times as a player [1958, 1962, 1970] believes too much time has been wasted, with airports in particular notably behind schedule.

"My biggest concern is the infrastructure — the airports," he told Estado de S.Paulo. "I returned recently [to São Paulo] and the airport was chaotic.

"Unfortunately the organisation has been poor. I was part of [World Cup] functions that took place four years ago so there was time to get things right. There is no reason to be in the current situation."
