Porto forward Jackson Martínez has praised the influence of Brazil on Colombian football.

The 27 year-old, who is expected to feature for Los Cafeteros at this summer’s FIFA World Cup, admits he grew up watching Santos and São Paulo and names Ronaldo as an inspiration.

"I’ve always loved Brazilian football and Ronaldo was my favourite player as a kid," Martínez told FIFA.com. “When [Victor] Aristizábal and [León Darío] Muñoz were there I also watched a lot of Santos and São Paulo games and Brazilian teams in the Copa Libertadores.

"The talent level is incredible. I’d say it’s unique in world football. There is no doubt Brazil’s success influenced the growth of Colombian football."
