Brazilian striker Elias scored his first goal for new side Jiangsu Sainty in a comprehensive 4-0 win against Tianjin Teda after making the switch from a career based entirely in his homeland.
After several loan spells at the likes of Bahia and Botafogo, Elias has made the permanent move to China and told Lance after his debut goal: “It’s a great feeling. The first goal is always pleasant and even more so at home with the support of the fans.”
“All my teammates came to celebrate with me; I hope it is the first of many.”
Elias’ settling in period at the Chinese club will be aided by teammate and fellow Brazilian Eleilson, who has been at the side since 2010 and has made over 110 appearances for them.
