Atlético Mineiro president Alexandre Kalil has seemingly confirmed that Nicolas Anelka will join the Belo Horizonte based club.
Kalil tweeted “Anelka is a rooster” from his personal account on Sunday morning, which suggests the former France international will be signing with the Copa Libertadores holders.
Anelka was quoted yesterday as saying that he didn’t know where his future would be and that he wasn’t expecting to sign with a new club until next season, so Kalil’s revelations come as a slight surprise.
Anelka, 35, has been without a club since leaving West Bromwich Albion in February, after having his contract terminated for gross misconduct.
