The transfer sga of Corinthians striker Emerson Sheik appears to be drawing to a conclusion after it was announced on Goal that a protracted move to Botafogo is in its final stages.
The Qatar international, who represented Brazil at youth level, has been under pressure to get game time at the Sao Paulo outfit following various injury problems.
In order to complete the deal, it is thought that Emerson will be taking a wage cut, although it is not known exactly the extent to which this will happen.
After joining Corinthians in 2011 from Fluminense, Emerson went on to help them win a host of silverware, including the Campeonato Brasileiro, the Copa Libertadores and the Club World Cup and has featured for the side on 72 occasions.
