Neymar has admitted it is good to be concentrating on football again after the recent controversy over his transfer from Santos to Barcelona.

The 22-year-old’s form has dipped since the turn of the year, which has been put down to a combination of issues, however he scored a decisive goal on Tuesday night against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League.

The forward spoke to Brazilian outlet Globo after the game and believes he is close to his previous form, Football Espana quoted the Barcelona man.

Neymar: “I am getting back to what I was before. Everyone has to face periods of adaptation at some stage and so do I.

“I am pleased to again be concentrating on my football and I hope to continue helping the team.

“I hope that my goal will help the team and be important in terms of helping us to get through.”

If the Catalan giants are to progress they’ll have to score an away goal but Neymar believes they can achieve that and win in the Vicente Calderón.

“A match with Atlético is always difficult but Barca know how to attack,” said Neymar.

“It was a result that has created complications but we know we have potential to win the away leg. We need to show the same level of intensity if we want to win the next game.”
