Roma only have themselves to blame for being eight points adrift of Serie A leaders Juventus, insists defender Maicon.
Rudi Garcia’s side beat Parma 4-2 on Wednesday to keep in touch with the Bianconeri, but Maicon believes they will be difficult to overhaul.
“Why is there such a big gap? It’s all our own fault,” he told Roma Channel.
“We need to look at our own work. If we had done better, then we would’ve been closer to them right now.
“The important thing today was to win so we could leave Napoli and Fiorentina further behind. Now we need to recover as quickly as possible, because on Sunday there is Cagliari.
“We’ve got to fight to the very end.”
