Colombia striker Radamel Falcao Garcia has told reporters that his recovery from a serious knee injury is going well and he could yet make an appearance at this summer’s World Cup- but the Monaco player stressed that it is far from a foregone conclusion.

After initially being written off by the press as an absentee for the tournament, Falcao said: “I will do my best to get there. But the important thing is to be well and recover well.”

“I can not allow my dream of playing in Brazil with my country to affect the condition of my knee.”

“So far there have been no problems and I have worked well. The evolution has been rapid.”

Falcao is seen a crucial to Colombia’s chances of success this year, the former Atletico Madrid man having netted 20 international goals in 51 appearances.
