Corinthians are optimistic that they can complete the signing of midfielder Elias before the end of the international transfer window on Monday evening.
The Brazilian, who had been on loan at Flamengo last year, has been a long-time target for the side from Sao Paulo and final details on a €4 million transfer from Sporting Lisbon are expected to be completed within time.
“The commitment of Corinthians was very large and the probability is quite large in achieving the business. I hope evrything goes well”, said Corinthians Director of Football Ronaldo Ximenes.
Elias had a previous spell at the club from 2008 to 2010 and made 94 appearnaces for them; he also won 13 Brazil caps during his time in Brazil before moving to Spanish side Atletico Madrid in 2011.
