Brazil’s current number one felt pain in his right thigh during the MLS game against Real Salt Lake but played on with a limp after receiving treatment.

Toronto FC lost their first game in this season’s MLS when they were comfortably beaten away from home by Real Salt Lake.

Júlio César cannot be blamed for any of the three goals that he let in. However, the 35-year-old appeared to pick up an injury when being challenged by an opponent in the second-half but managed to complete the full 90 minutes, despite hobbling around at times.

The ex-Flamengo, Inter Milan and Queens Park Rangers star made only two saves in the game, both shots from range in the dying minutes, but was caught in no man’s land in the first-half when he rushed from his goal to make a clearance but his defence came to the rescue after he failed to reach the ball in time.

The Brazilian will hope to be fully fit for Toronto’s next game which will be away at Colombus Crew on Saturday.
