Chelsea’s Brazilians had a day to forget at Selhust Park as David Luiz was forced off with what appeared an injury whilst Oscar failed to help his side as they lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace.

It was a painful defeat for José Mourinho’s team and after the game he described their chances of winning the Premier League title as “impossible”.

Many journalists reported that Luiz was seen limping at half time, although Mourinho was quoted by Chelsea’s official twitter page as insisting the Brazilian was taken off for tactical reasons.

Mourinho said: “It was a decision to take off David Luiz at half time, not due to injury.”

Luiz had been playing in the now familiar midfield role but it was one of his team mates, captain John Terry, who scored the only goal of the game, unfortunately in his own net.

That occurred with Luiz already off but Oscar was present on the pitch, however he didn’t shine too much as Chelsea failed in vein to overturn the one goal deficit.

Willian was an unused substitute whilst Ramires continued to serve his league suspension.

The Brazilians available to Mourinho will hope to help the Blues bounce back when they face Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.
