Palmeiras hotshot Alan Kardec admits he and his representatives are working hard with his current club to arrange a deal for the 25-year-old to remain in Brazil.

Kardec is currently on loan from Benfica but has been a huge success with Alviverde and scored as they reached the Campeonato Paulista semi-finals yesterday.

He spoke after the game with Lancenet quoting the Brazilian, Kardec said: “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t eager for it to be sorted. It generates some anxiety but I will try to keep quiet.

“Hopefully at the right time we will give good news. It’s about time too so we have to keep our feet on the ground because I do not like to talk much. I’m very reserved. We are working to reach an agreement as quickly as possible.”

Kardec is due to return to Benfica in June but Palmeiras have first refusal over the forward if they wish to pursue his rights.

Kardec was forthright in his opinion that he wished to remain with Palmeiras, he concluded: “My will is to remain, the will of all parties is that I remain but we have to be calm and not talk openly about it.

“What I can say is that my desire is to stay and we will soon have news.”
