The Brazilian wants to banish the memories of Tottenham’s 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool by producing a shock result at Anfield on Sunday.

Paulinho received a straight red-card for a challenge on Luiz Suarez in the reverse fixture at White Hart Lane in December in what was the final match of Andre Villas-Boas’ spell in charge of Spurs.

Since then, Liverpool have lost only twice in 15 Premier League matches and a win over Tottenham would also make it eight straight league wins for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Despite Tottenham’s inconsistent form, Paulinho is determined to secure a positive result on Merseyside.

“This is a good game for us after the result against Southampton and now we have the chance to do well against Liverpool,” the 25-year-old told the club’s official website.

“I didn’t think it was a red card at the time. I’ve forgotten about it, we didn’t play well, we lost. Now we have another chance.”

“We have to forget about that game. We have a chance to go there, play well and hopefully come back with a good result. We know it will be difficult, but we have a chance.”

“We have seven games to go, we’re trying to finish as high as possible and we have to try to win this game,” he completed.
